Lead with Zeal.

I build people-first cultures and operations for businesses ready to scale without losing what made them good.

"The best operators didn't manage their teams. They led them."

I'm Chris Zelis. Throughout my career, I've scaled hospitality groups from 13 to 65 locations, opened more than 60 concepts, and rebuilt cultures that were quietly falling apart.

I've sat at every level of this industry, from the floor to the C-suite, and learned the same lesson every time:

Take care of people first, and everything else follows.‍‍ ‍

That's not idealism. It's the most operationally sound move you can make.

Most operators think they have a systems problem. They don't. They have a people problem.

After twenty years in this industry, I've watched the same story play out in every format — fast casual, fine dining, multi-unit, independent. The owners and operators who go straight to systems burn out their people. The operators who invest in people first build something that actually scales.

The difference isn't talent or funding or concept.

It's sequencing.

So I built a framework for it.

Whether you're opening your first concept or scaling your fifteenth, the sequence is always the same.

60+

Concepts opened across full-service, fast casual, and hospitality

20+

Years building people-first operations at every level

65

Units scaled in a single operational leadership role

The OverZelis Method™

Five Levels. One Rule. No Skipping !

01 PEOPLE

The foundation. Everything is built on this.

02 GUESTS

Great people deliver great guest experiences. Always.

03 GROWTH

Sustainable growth comes from Levels 1 and 2. Not before.

04 PERFORMANCE

Now we talk numbers. With context and purpose.

05 LEGACY

What you're building beyond the shift.

The Core Law: You can’t buy your way to Level 3 without earning Levels 1 and 2.

Every operator who has tried has the turnover numbers or failed business to prove it.

OverZelis, defined

OverZelis (oh-ver-ZELL-us)

From zeal — the thing that makes great leaders different.
From Zelis — the guy who built the method.

n. A leadership operating system for operators who refuse to lead any other way.

Ready when you are.
